This historic Dhum river Marshy land covers 144.13 acres of land in Dhumerkuthi mouza of Haragach municipality and Sarai union of Kaunia upazila, 10 km away from Rangpur metropolis. Although it is known as a river, it is basically a historical pond. During the anti-British movement, the inner part of the bill was a Army fort of National fighters. From here, warriors like Nawab Nur-Uddin Baker Jung (Nurul Din), Bhabani Pathak, Fakir Majnu Shah and Devi Chowdhurani fought against the British. The ditch that was dug around the fort to protect the fort now called it is known as Dhoom River Marshy land. The Dhum river is located two kilometers away from Haragach College.
